Photo Challenge Week 36, 2025: Shoot From Above

Photo Challenge Week 36, 2025: Shoot From Above

“Shooting from above” doesn’t have to mean renting a helicopter. It could be as simple as standing on a chair or holding your camera above your head. It could be overhead and symmetrical, like a flat lay, or it could be tilted for more dynamic storytelling. Look for subjects that take on new meaning from this perspective: tabletops, staircases, your shoes, messy beds, or people walking below.

Just the Facts: You have 7 days to take a photo from an elevated perspective — looking down at your subject. Additional challenge was Use a Drone.

The Featured image is the one that I used. It’s a photo taken downtown El Dorado, Arkansas using a DJI Mini 4 pro drone. The photo taken at around 250 feet in the air using the panoramic function. No wind and sky was overcast from a rain earlier in the day. Taken after dusk but not full on night. Panoramic photo was then converted in Paint Shop Pro 360 to the “planet” and rotated till i got the streets where i wanted them. Below were some extra photos that were taken at the time. Including the Panoramic shot that the “planet” was made from.
