You have 7 days to photograph something that embodies Wabi Sabi – the beauty of imperfection.
It’s Week 26!! We’re halfway there, woohoo! Although we keep reminding you all through the year, this week’s Wabi Sabi theme is about the core principle behind 52Frames – Embrace Imperfection. Wabi-Sabi in photography is all about finding beauty in things that might not be perfect. It’s about appreciating stuff that’s old, a bit worn out, and not exactly neat and tidy, or something that’s impermanent and temporary. In fact, this idea takes it a step further and opens the possibility that the flawed object is actually better than its original whole form. Instead of always looking for super smooth and shiny things, you can take pictures of things like old, cracked stuff, things that show they’ve been around for a while, these cracks that hold stories.
Chose a photo of the sunset coming in and shining on the concrete in my garage.
