You have 7 days to take a photo using window light as your primary light source.
For all the time, money, and effort spent by pros in lighting their studios, it’s often the humble window that shines through the best. Window light can be soft, harsh, warm, cool and many more things in between. Understand the DIRECTION your window faces, to understand how the sun creeps in, and this can change based on time of day (or even night), how big the window is, and what you have in front of it. A Southern-facing* window will give you some direct harsh sun, while a Northern-facing* window will give you a more uniform glow of indirect light. East and West obviously contend with where the sun’s position is when you’re getting your shot! Choose wisely. An interesting photo challenge for the week. However, its been mostly overcast this week so was a little tough. Featured image is the one I used. Below are some extra. from the 1847 Hempstead County Courthouse.
