Ever look at a photo, or a scene in a movie, or a painting, or even an Instagram post and thought: “I would love to make something like that”? Well this week is an opportunity to experiment and try something in the style of someone who inspires you! The goal isn’t (necessarily) to recreate a scene exactly—it’s to study what makes someone’s work theirs and use that as inspiration for your own. Think of it as an homage.

The Matrix from 1999 (thats 26 years old now) is one of my favorite movies has a certain visual style that is iconic. There are quite a few references to Alice in Wonderland in The Matrix, so I thought I’d throw the dvd in corner to give the photo that little extra easter egg for any fan of the movie. Green lights all around and underexposed to recreate the “Matrix” style. There are two alternatives below.
